Birthday of a sixty-eight year old Coaster Nut

Its my birthday today so what does any self respecting roller coaster fan who hasn't got anything else planned and who lives in Blackpool do to celebrate? Well go down and spend an afternoon on the Pleasure Beach of course.

Getting there around 15:30, it wasn't as busy as it was the other Saturday although there was still a fair number of people there. For instance it was around half an hour waiting to get on the Big One. From there I went on the rollercoaster as I still insist on calling it, the disco and then round to the Red Arrows Sky Force ride where I still have trouble rolling the plane over or more precisely feel myself rolling and then take my hands off the controls which is weird as I can stand spinning as much as you like on a machine that does the work for you. Then on to have a drinking chocolate and biscuits relaxing in the sun before being knocked about on the Big Dipper so after that I decided against the Grand National. Over to ride the Ice Blast before walking back home.

Very nice having and amusement park of the calibre and history of Blackpool Pleasure Beach within walking distance of home.

And one of my cards did say Growing Old Is Inevitable; Growing Up Is Optional!
