And I thought I had got away with it!

After getting through the winter without as much as a sniffle I have now come down with a really nasty cold.

I won't be as dramatic as to say that it laid me low but it has certainly taken all the energy out of me at the moment. Perhaps as you get older it takes more of a toll, I remember years before retirement going into work feeling worse and working through but then I guess that was what was expected.

It started Friday night being kept awake with a coughing fit and then on Saturday night I had a diabolical sore throat and remembered that old standby of honey and lemon in hot water which I'm sure did as much if not more good than the more expensive concoctions at the chemist. Sunday night I slept pretty well and then Monday night I was kept awake with the coughing fit again. From Saturday I have have barely emerged from my house hoping to have it cleared for an evening out on Wednesday and then of course comes the Easter weekend. I hope to be back to normal by then.
